COMPUTERIZED BOARDGAMES

Although a boardgame in a classical sense does not really seem fit to be transfered to a computer, a number of companies has undertaken the task to create a computerized version of some game or another. In this section of Kulkmann's G@mebox you will find reviews of such games, and also some older games which can be freely downloaded!

"Axis & Allies"
This game by Hasbro Interactive is an example for high aims and low achievements in the field of computerized boardgames. Although the game looks promising and sounds good with its Internet-Multiplayer-Mode, a number of bugs and a lousy AI make it quite boring to play. Such a gaming classic would have deserved a better treatment.

G@mebox Special - Boardgames for download !

In this section you will find several older games. I have put them up for you to download, so that you can enjoy them on your PC at home. However, please not that most of these games run under DOS (yes, the old System before Windows) and I offer no support in finding the right configuration to run those games.

The Settlers of Catan

"The Settlers of Catan"® was Germany´s "Game of the Year 1995". Because of the great fan-community for the game even a club for players developed, and one of these Catan-Freaks named Jens Willibald was able to create a 1-player computer-version of Settlers. This computer game was distributed to members of the Settlers Club, but now I am proud to offer it for downloading at Kulkmann´s G@mebox !

Handling note: You can load different scenarios in the game by klicking on "Szenario Laden" at the mainscreen.

The game comes with an editor to create new scenarios and the rules of the basic game and the Seafarers Expansion are included. If you think that you have done a good scenario with the editor, send it to me and I will publish it for download !
